Structure your nomination around the key points in a category and demonstrate what makes your nomination outstanding, including proof and evidence of performance and/or outcomes.

To assist nominees complete the online form and have the best chance of winning, the following provides guidance on the questions and how they can be best answered that provides the judges with the information that they are looking for.

Nomination Summary

Briefly summarise what the nomination is for (e.g. a project, a product, service, partnership, etcetera). This should outline the reasons for why this is a worthwhile nomination. Answer must be between 1000 – 5000 characters.

Tip: Make your answer stand out to the judges by highlighting why the nominee's activities are different from what could normally be expected of a reputable business/individual professional working in the dental industry. This is your opportunity to capture their imagination, impress them, and give a reason for them to acknowledge the nominee's achievements.

Identifiable Benefits

In this section explain how the business, broader dental industry and/or oral health care industry has benefited as a result of the initiative (e.g. a project, product, service, partnership) or, for the professional, how the individual has made a difference. Answer must be between 1000 – 5000 characters.

Tip: The judges will place a strong emphasis on responses that clearly articulate the lasting contribution that has been made. The initiative should serve as an example to others and be capable of being used as a case study (but not necessarily a template) of the lasting difference that businesses and individuals in the dental industry can make.

Leadership Award Specifics —

Outline the accomplishment that clearly demonstrates leadership in the dental industry. Identify challenges that were overcome and the success strategy that sets your business apart from its competitors.

Marketing Award Specifics —
.

Describe the nature of the marketing activity, how it improved sales results and/or brand positioning and in so doing why it has become recognised as a pioneering program that peers wish to emulate.

Innovation Award Specifics —
.

Here you can set out your business' journey in the research, development, manufacturing, and commercialisation of products and/or services (brought to market in the past five years) and how these have demonstrably empowered oral health professionals to advance the health and well-being of all Australians.

Partnership Award Specifics —
.

Explain the initiative that brought the dental industry together with dentists and allied oral healthcare professionals, and the benefits that resulted from the partnership.

Professional Award Specifics —
.

Describe the accomplishments of the individual and their contribution to project or business outcomes that are far superior to, and serve as a model for, their colleagues in the dental industry.

Supporting Statements & Documentation For All Nominees —
.

Supporting Statement

Use this opportunity to provide a statement that may assist the judges in making a determination. This may include background information on the nominee and what makes the nominee a leader in their field.

Supporting Documents

Nominees may include up to five (5) additional documents in support of their nomination and list them here. The documents should relate directly to the nomination and not be general in nature (e.g. corporate profiles).

Referees Statements

Nominees may include up to three (3) referee statements in support of the nominee. Although these can be written by any individual/business, third-party endorsements are favoured.

When completing the online form show enthusiasm in your nomination and tell a story, use narration (and avoid the use of bullet points and lists). Importantly, be mindful that the judges prefer applications that are clear, concise and direct - be succinct. Be sure to get others to support your nomination by writing a one-page supportive statement which further reinforces the accomplishments referenced in the nomination and upload these using the form.
