Say Ahh — World Oral Health Day 2019
14th Feb 19
Summary —
World Oral Health Day (WOHD) is celebrated globally every year on 20 March. It is the largest global awareness campaign on oral health.
Key issues for the dental industry —
The Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA), the peak business organisation representing manufacturers and suppliers of dental products, is a supporter of WOHD and encourages all ADIA members to get involved in spreading the WOHD message.
WOHD spreads messages about good oral hygiene practices to adults and children alike and demonstrates the importance of optimal oral health in maintaining general health and well-being.
Each year, WOHD focuses on a specific theme and reaches out to the public, oral health professionals, and policy makers, who all have a role to play in helping reduce the burden of oral disease.
2018 was the first year of a three-year campaign. The message for 2018 was: Say Ahh, Think Mouth, Think Health. The message for 2019 is: Say Ahh, Act on Mouth Health. The message for 2020 will be: Say Ahh, Unite for Mouth Health.
Say Ahh: Act on Mouth Health aims to motivate people to take charge of their oral health and take action to prevent oral diseases and protect their general health, through managing risk factors and seeking treatment in a timely manner when necessary.
To download WOHD resources, please visit the WOHD website:
Make sure to get involved in WOHD's 'I #ActOnMouthHealth by...' selfie campaign to spread the message.
